The Grand Abbey
The Grand Abbey of Archais; it is the second largest cathedral in Uaciban, and it is wholly devoted to the gods of Kaderith. The grand church is constructed of sparkling grey stone, and is so epic in proportion that its towering spire can be seen for miles from above the city walls.
Constructed in the years after the city's founding, it can easily hold all of Archais' devout populace during its weekly services. When one enters through the grand doors of the abbey, they are greeted by a two lines of great pillars that hold up the gargantuan roof, and which frame the empty isle that leads to the altar of Hemrear. All around the room are great stain glass windows, depicting the epics of the gods. Off to the left and right of the isle of pillars, sit the exquisite, wooden pews that wait patiently at all times, for their loyal congregation to take their places upon their surfaces.
The priests live under the church itself, in its great catacombs, and a few members of the cloth are always available to tend the populace. And truly the ever vigilant priests are needed, for the church is almost never void of a few souls seeking solace.
NPCs
Name: Archbishop Eranus
Description: Archbishop Eranus is a calm, aging man that radiates a confidence that might be lost to most in his humble, and unobtrusive manner. There is an air of open honesty that surrounds him, and yet his eyes always seem to hold some mystery, some enigma; it is almost as if he would gladly share whatever secret he is keeping, if you asked, but you would never be able to guess just what to inquire about. Irregardless, he is wise, he is pious, he is kindhearted, and he has an understated charisma that could calm an ogre.
Name: Ronin
Description: The janitor of the abbey, he somehow manages to keep the giant church relatively clean. Ronin's personality is rather boisterous and loud, but he is just excitable and not arrogant, or brash. The man is well versed in the faith--a side effect of hearing all the services of the abbey, and overhearing the conversations of the priests--and he doesn't mind helping answer any questions a devotee might have, but he is quick to point out that he is no holy man himself.
