Located deep below Sunshire Citadel, is the altar of the god of justice and freedom, Hemrear. An initiate in the dawn's vigil takes his oath in the Grand Abbey of Archais, but it is here at the altar of the vigil's god that he is vested with his powers. The altar itself is a large, stone slab--it is cold, uninviting, not decorated, and just about as large as a man's body. Shackles are attached to the altars surface, where a man's wrists and ankles would be, if he were to lay down upon it.
The walls that enclose the room that the altar is in are thick enough to be sound proof. They have to be.
NPCs Name: Chief Vigilant Heron Description: The only Chief Vigilant in Archais to not be charged with the leading of any men. Heron's duty is only to carry out the ceremony that takes place at the altar, that invests a new vigilant with his holy powers. He is a good man, an honorable man, and a noble soul. Occasionally, it is only his words that keep an initiate going through the painful ordeal of their true initiation.
